Parents behind 'DaddyOFive' videos could face 10 years in prison

By Dan Gunderman

No one’s laughing, DaddyOFive.

The controversial parents who posted videos to YouTube of their children seemingly crying in fear, could face up to 10 years in prison.

Michael Martin and his wife, the children’s stepmother, Heather Martin, who posted on the “DaddyOFive” channel, were charged with two counts of neglect of a minor.

The charges were leveled July 27 by Frederick County, Md., prosecutors, according to People.

Prosecutors say that the Martins neglected their young children: Emma, 12, and Cody, 9. The alleged abuse took place between November 2016 and April 2017.

Each charge carries a potential term of five years in prison, plus a $5,000 fine.

The Martins’ attorney, Stephen Tully, told the Frederick News Post that they’ve reached a plea agreement, though details are currently unknown, reports say. A plea hearing is set for Sept. 11.

The Ijamsville, Md., couple posted videos (since removed) to their channel showing them yelling and swearing at the young kids, typically until they cry.

One video finds Michael Martin shouting at Cody about spilled ink — although Heather Martin says it was invisible.

This spring, the Martins lost custody of Emma and Cody — after an angry public railed against the bizarre and unnecessary videos.
