The Aiken Co Jail is a detention center located at 435 Wire Rd Aiken, SC which is operated locally by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Aiken County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Aiken Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The Aiken County Detention Center houses an average of 375 to 450 inmates, who either are awaiting trial, or are serving sentences less than 90 days. The ACDC is a state-of-the-art security facility, with six minimum to maximum security housing units.

Intake and Release - When an individual arrives at ACDC, employees document the arrestee’s personal property, take fingerprints, photographs and run a criminal history check, with all information entered into a jail management database. The arrestee also receives a health screening shortly after arriving at the facility.

Visitation Information

Aiken County Detention Center - Visitation

Arrestee and Visitor Information - Citizens now can schedule visits on an as-available basis with inmates at the Detention Center by visiting securustech.net. You can choose to visit on-site at the Detention Center or schedule a paid visit from the convenience of your own home, using the video visitation system. Visitors can also schedule visits in the Detention Center lobby by using a visitation kiosk.

All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance and approved by facility staff.

Inmates that are currently serving a disciplinary sanction will not be approved for visitation.

Please be aware that an inmate can refuse to see any visitor.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time for your visit in order to be registered in a timely manner! If you arrive at the exact time of your visit, please be prepared to wait and visitation time will be cut short. Any child under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult and must remain under the adult's supervision at all times.

Visitors must wear proper attire that conforms to reasonable standards. Short shorts, short skirts, bathing suits, and tank tops or excessively tight or revealing clothing is considered to be inappropriate attire. Shoes and shirts are required. The Visitation Officer has the authority to deny a visit with an inmate if the visitor is wearing inappropriate attire. Smoking is not permitted inside the Detention Center and visitation area.

Visitors shall follow facility rules. Violations of facility rules may result in the cancellation of current and future visits.

Visitors are subject to identification verification.

Visits may be canceled or rescheduled at any time by facility staff.
