The inmates housed at Bibb Correctional located at 565 Bibb Ln in Brent, AL are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Bibb Correctional Facility is a state prison that can house about 1800 inmates across all custody levels operated by the Alabama Department of Corrections on 250 acres in Brent, AL. The facility’s purpose is to provide offenders with educational, substance abuse treatment and various self-improvement programs to enhance their productive return to society.
Offenders first arrive at Bibb are processed which includes photographing and fingerprinting, followed by a dental and physical examination. This is usually followed by a psychological evaluation and classification. Inmates can expect to answer questions about their drug and alcohol use/abuse as well as their criminal history.
Inmates housed receive on-site medical and dental care through the medical infirmary as well as educational and substance abuse programs that are geared towards the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.
This is also where inmates will be assigned any programs needed to complete their education or vocational training. This process will generally take two weeks, and an inmate may be unable to receive mail or make phone calls during this period.

No cellphones, you will be searched before visiting. NO personal belongings. Persons under probation, parole, or other community corrections supervision must obtain the permission of both their individual supervising officer and the superintendent prior to a visit. Such visitation is not normally approved.
If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is a family member of the inmate, they must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian to include a member of the inmate's extended family. If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is not a family member of the inmate, the minor visitor must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
