Located at 12085 Wares Ferry Rd in Montgomery, AL, MWF carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. MWF offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The Montgomery Women's Community Based Facility and Community Work Center, operated by the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), is a medium custody state correctional facility situated behind the Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery. Established in March 1976, the facility comprises a visiting pavilion, a supply/storage building, and a hobby craft/classroom building. It is strategically located near Montgomery's job market, providing inmates with job opportunities in the community.

As a medium custody correctional facility, the Montgomery WF is equipped to handle inmates with varying levels of security risk. Ingram State Technical College offers education programs such as Adult Education and GED services to support the rehabilitation and skill development of inmates.

The facility also operates the "Work Release" program, which allows selected inmates to secure gainful employment in the community while being supervised in a community-based facility during non-working hours. Inmates participating in the program contribute a percentage of their gross salary to cover the costs associated with their maintenance in the work release program, including transportation, medical services, drug testing, and laundry.

Additionally, inmates in the work release program are subject to deductions for state and federal income taxes, Social Security taxes, and other fees. The remainder of their wages is deposited into their PMOD account, and depending on their balance, they may be allowed to send money home.

Upon arrival at the work release facility, inmates are assigned job assignments within the facility until they are approved and placed in a paying job in the community. However, participation in the program is contingent on meeting eligibility criteria and undergoing classification assessment by a Classification Specialist.

Overall, the Montgomery Women's Community Based Facility and Community Work Center play a vital role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of female inmates into society by providing educational opportunities, job skills training, and supervised work release programs.

Inmate Locator

MWF maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
