The Asotin Co Jail is a detention center located at 838 5th St Clarkston, WA which is operated locally by the Asotin County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Asotin County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Clarkston Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Washington here.

The Asotin County Jail, operated by the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office, accommodates adult offenders and pre-trial arrestees. With a standard capacity of 47 inmates and an emergency capacity of 58, the facility ensures 24-hour staffing, comprising 1 Commander, 3 Sergeants, 10 Corrections Officers, and a Transport Officer. It serves as the primary detention center for the City of Asotin and the City of Clarkston, and provides temporary housing for probation violators from the Washington Department of Corrections.

Medical, mental health, and dental services at the jail are outsourced, ensuring comprehensive care for inmates. The facility offers various programs aimed at rehabilitation and personal development, including life skills, educational, and religious programs, all facilitated by volunteers. Inmates have access to a limited commissary program and a library, enhancing their quality of life during incarceration.

Books and magazines ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. Prisons and jails enforce this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution.

Additionally, the jail provides work release and home detention services. It also contributes to the community by offering inmate labor to local government and non-profit organizations, supporting entities such as the Asotin County Landfill, courthouse, Fair Board, Litter Control, and Weed Control.
