Presently, Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR)-Safford has a designated capacity of 730 inmates spread across three housing units, primarily at security levels 2 and 3. The ADC employs a score classification system to determine inmates' appropriate custody and security level placement, ranging from 1 to 5, with 5 indicating the highest risk or need, the Globe Unit (2), the Tonto Unit (3) Fort Grant Unit (2).

The ADCRR Safford-Globe Unit collaborates with various local municipalities and organizations through inter-governmental agreement work programs, providing inmates with opportunities for employment and community engagement. These programs encompass a wide array of tasks, including maintenance of parks and recreation areas, operation of auto shops, preservation of archaeological sites at Beshba-Gowah Archaeological Park, and support for public works initiatives in cities such as Globe, Miami, Kearney, Superior, and Hayden. Inmates also contribute to the upkeep of senior centers, schools, and other community facilities within these municipalities. Furthermore, partnerships with organizations like Gila Community College and Gila County involve groundskeeping duties, fairground maintenance, roadwork, and landfill operations. The facility's collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service extends to tasks such as assisting at visitor centers, maintaining campgrounds, and ensuring the upkeep of recreational areas like Roosevelt Lake and Apache Lake. In addition to work programs, ADCRR-Safford offers self-improvement initiatives designed to promote rehabilitation and personal growth among inmates. These programs include Thinking For a Change, Merging Two Worlds, Hazelden’s Attitudes and Beliefs, Twelve Steps, and InsideOut Dad, providing inmates with tools and resources to address behavioral challenges, develop essential life skills, and strengthen familial relationships. Through these combined efforts, ADCRR-Safford strives to facilitate successful reintegration into society and reduce recidivism rates among its inmate population.
