The Benzie County Jail is a detention center located at 505 S Michigan Ave Beulah, MI which is operated locally by the Benzie County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Benzie County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Beulah Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Michigan here.

Many times friends and families of inmates are frustrated because they recognize the need for their loved one’s need for help with a drug or alcohol problem. In most cases, the availability of these programs depends upon the size of the jail facility. The Benzie County Correctional Facility offers programs in alcoholics anonymous, substance abuse, church and bible studies and crisis counseling. The Benzie County Jail also provides inmates the opportunity to earn their General Education Diploma (GED), M.R.T., Bible Study, Chapel Services, Project Unity for Life, Search For the Truth, Commitment to Change - Men, and Women's Empowerment, while incarcerated.
