The Cattaraugus County NY Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 301 Court St Little Valley, NY which is operated locally by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Cattaraugus County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Little Valley Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The facility is comprised of both linear bar sections and dorm/direct supervision pods.
The Cattaraugus County Jail is a maximum security 150 bed facility. It houses both sentenced and un-sentenced male and female, minor (age 16 -18) and adult prisoners.
Offences range from violations and misdemeanor charges to FBI index crimes. FBI index crimes are 8 categorized crimes the FBI combines to produce its annual crime index. The offences include; willful homicide, forcible rape, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, arson, motor vehicle theft, and larceny.

Extraordinary measures are taken to maintain a safe, secure, clean, and compliant facility. The Cattaraugus County jail is in substantial compliance with the many complex and detailed minimum standards set forth by the New York State Commission of Correction.
The supervisory staff is comprised of one Correction Captain, Captain Eric J. Keller(ejkeller@cattco.org). Correction Lieutenant, and five Correction Sergeants. Rank and file officers include thirty seven full time Correction Officers and fifteen part time Correction Officers.
These officers remain steadfast and professional in a challenging environment.
Kiosk money terminal:
Anyone can add funds to an inmates account via the kiosk terminal located in the public visitation lobby. The public has full access to this terminal on a 24/7 basis. Simple on screen prompts make depositing cash monies or using a credit card user friendly. Please note: The kiosk terminal does NOT accept one dollar bills. It does accept 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollar bills.
Remote money deposits:
Anyone can deposit funds to an inmate account via the internet: Smartdeposit.com or by phone: 1-866-394-0490. You will need the inmate’s jacket number and the facility code/pay location: 5500. Detailed instructions have been provided to all inmates.

As of March 18, 2020, registration and visitation rules have changed to protect inmates at Cattaraugus County NY Jail and their loved ones during the COVID-19 outbreak. At this time, there are no in-person visits for family and friends due to the COVID-19 situation. Video visitation is available; details can be found below or call 716-938-9194.
Registration
Visitation hours: Tuesdays and Fridays 11:45 to 3:45p.m. and 5:00- 8:00 p.m. All visitors are required to present picture identification, inclusive of date of birth, at each visit. A driver’s license, police agency issued identification card, or social services benefit card are all acceptable forms identification as they include all the required information along with the picture. Visitors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times.

Visitors between the ages of 16-18 must produce the above referenced photo identification. In addition a notarized written permission slip signed by the parent or legal guardian must be submitted, if the visitor is not accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at the time of the visit.
Please realize a firm dress code is established to maintain the security and integrity of the visitation program. No shorts, capri, type pants, dresses, skirts, or revealing tops are permitted.
