Inmates that are convicted of a misdemeanor and/or sentenced to less than one year of a state crime serve their time in the county jail.

Illegal immigrants convicted of a state or federal crime will first do their time, they may then be transferred into ICE custody for deportation.

Visiting Assistance

NOTE: Visiting is conducted on a walk-in basis upon approval of a CDCR 106 Visiting Questionnaire form (first come, first served). Only approved visitors are allowed on Facility grounds. Visitors entering the Facility grounds are subject to search of their person, vehicle and/or property. The last visitor will be processed at 2:00 PM. Terminations for overcrowding will be conducted in the same manner (first come, first to be terminated). Visiting programs may be modified, terminated or suspended without notice due to institutional security needs.

Appointment Process:

Appointments for contact visits may be scheduled one week in advance. Between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., visitors with an appointment will have precedence. Visitors who do not have an appointment may walk-in after scheduled appointment processing concludes at 11:00 or as may be available between the processing of scheduled visitors. Visitors should not arrive on the institutional grounds more than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time.

There are two ways an appointment can be made for contact visits:

By Phone: Visitors may make appointments by calling 661-792-2447 on Mondays, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This phone line will only be utilized to schedule visiting appointments on the aforementioned days and times.

By Online: The Visitor Processing Appointment Scheduling System, known as VPASS, is an online application offered as a service to help expedite the visitation scheduling process. Approved visitors may access VPASS to schedule an appointment between 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The system will also allow the visitors to receive information about any changes to visitation via email or on the VPASS home pages.
