The FCI-Englewood is a federal prison located at 9595 W Quincy Ave in Littleton, CO. This federal low security prison is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to hold inmates who have been convicted to and sentenced for a federal crime through the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

The Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood (FCI Englewood) is a low-security United States federal prison for male inmates in Colorado. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the US Department of Justice. The facility also has an administrative detention center and an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum-security offenders. FCI Englewood is located in unincorporated Jefferson County. FCI Englewood is located off of U.S. Route 285 and Kipling Street, 10 miles southwest of Denver.

FCI Englewood encompasses about 320 acres in total. The FCI has 2 different housing units with open dormitories and individual rooms, along with a secure housing unit for those who need to be placed in the Special Housing Unit. The facility has been designed to hold up to 1200 sentenced and un-sentenced offenders. The detention center contains 2 housing units where all the prisoners may roam freely.

The original facility opened in 1940. An adjacent detention center houses federal detainees. The satellite camp opened in 1990. FCI Englewood is a Sex Offender Management Program (SOMP) facility. As such, approximately 40 percent of the inmate population has either a current or past sexual offense.

Notable inmates include Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling serving a 25-year sentence for securities fraud; former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich is serving a 14-year sentence for wire fraud, bribery, and extortion related to the attempted "sale" of President Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat; former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle is serving a 15-year sentence for child pornography and other charges: and former University of Southern California professor Walter Lee Williams released in 2017 after serving 5 years for illicit sexual conduct.

Housing: Inmates are housed in four-person cubicles and two-person cells. In the detention center inmates are housed in two-person cells. The camp houses inmates in two dormitories of four-person rooms.

Health Services: The FCI Englewood Health Services Department conducts an intake screening examination upon arrival at the institution. Within 14 days inmates are also given a complete physical examination. Routine sick call and dental call, emergency care, preventive health screening, and medications are provided. While emergency care is available 24 hours a day, inmates must submit a triage form for routine care needs.

Psychology Services: The Psychology Services Department provides mental health services to the inmate population. These services include initial screenings, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, treating the mentally ill, psychiatric medication referrals, psycho-educational groups, providing self-help materials, and individual counseling. FCI Englewood also offers a Non-Residential Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP-NR).

Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP): Both FCI Englewood and the satellite camp offer a Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and a Drug Education Program. The main facility also offers a Non-Residential Drug Program (NR-DAP). The camp offers Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Education Services: FCI Englewood and the satellite camp provide GED, English-as-a-Second Language (ESL), and parenting programs. Adult Continuing Education (ACE) and Release Preparation Program classes are also available. High school diplomas and post-secondary programs are available through paid correspondence programs.

Advanced Occupational Education: FCI Englewood offers advanced occupational education courses in Customer Service and General Business.

Library Services: Leisure and law libraries are available at both facilities. The TRULINCS Electronic Law Library is maintained and coordinated by the Education Department and is located in the Education Building adjacent to the leisure library. The leisure library has leisure library books, a video collection, newspapers, and magazines for inmates to read and view. The library also has various tapes and video courses in finance, budgeting, psychology, self-help, and job searches. The Education Department also provides the opportunity for inmates to obtain leisure library materials not otherwise available at FCI Englewood, through the Jefferson County Public Library Interlibrary Loan System.

UNICOR: The UNICOR facility at FCI Englewood produces clothing and textiles.

Commissary: Inmates can spend $360.00 per month on a variety of commissary items. Popular items include snacks, ice cream, food, over-the-counter medications, and clothing. Radios and MP3 players can also be purchased.

Recreation Services: FCI Englewood has a recreation yard, gymnasium, weight room, hobby shop, music room, and wellness center. The Arts and Crafts Program includes leather, fine arts, pottery, painting, beading, and ceramics. The camp has a walking track with a fitness trail, softball field, soccer field, volleyball court, horseshoe pit, basketball area, bocce ball court, weight room, and hobby shop. Special events, tournaments, and entertainment are sponsored by the Recreation Department on each holiday at both FCI Englewood and the camp.

Covid Visitation Information

We remind all visitors to carefully review our special visiting procedures during the COVID pandemic, and also remind all visitors to observe applicable state and local COVID travel restrictions in planning your visit to the institution.

Please call 303-763-4300 prior to your visit to get the latest updates, time changes or visitation cancellations.

All visitors will be temperature checked with results annotated at the screening site prior to entrance. All staff working the screening site will be in proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Visitors will be in-processed on a first come first serve basis, adhering to social-distancing requirements. If distancing requirements cannot be met, visitors may be asked to wait outside for systematic in-processing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Inmates on quarantine or isolation status will not be permitted visits - it will be the visitor's responsibility to check with the institution prior to arrival to ensure the scheduled visit can still take place.

The visiting room is designed to maximize social distancing, with a minimum of six feet between persons. Inmates are permitted two visitors per visit. To ensure equal opportunities, the frequency of visits determines any termination. Appropriate face coverings are mandatory for all inmates and visitors, all visitors wearing a mask will be provided one by the institution, theirs will be secured in the lockers in the lobby. No physical contact, photographs, food, or drink is permitted. A hand hygiene station, including alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is available at all visiting entrances and exits. Orderlies are assigned to each visitation room and will continually sanitize all touch surfaces, restrooms, etc.
