In terms of academic programs, Baker Reentry provides Adult Basic Education, Career Technical Education, General Educational Development (GED) Preparation, Inmate Teaching Assistant Program, and a Mandated Literacy Program. The facility also offers vocational programs such as Aramark - Food Handling & Safe Serve, Electrical Wiring, PRIDE Culinary Arts, and Warehouse & Logistics training. These vocational programs are designed to provide practical skills and qualifications that can lead to employment opportunities post-release, thereby promoting self-sufficiency and reducing the likelihood of recidivism.

In addressing substance abuse issues, Baker Reentry provides various programs and services, including Alumni Support Group, Intensive Outpatient Services, Traditional Outpatient Services, Prevention Services, and a Therapeutic Community. Through these programs, individuals receive support, counseling, and treatment to overcome addiction and develop healthy coping mechanisms for successful reintegration.

Chaplaincy services play a crucial role in the spiritual and emotional well-being of the individuals, offering Catholic Studies, Chapel Library Program, Christ's Church services, Inside Out Dads program, Operation New Hope - Ready for Work, Religious Education, and Worship Services.

Moreover, the facility offers institutional betterment programs like the Canine Obedience Training Program, Career Source assistance, Compass 180 for personal development, Getting It Right Change Company, Library Program, Marriage Counseling, Parenting from Inside, and WorkNet services to enhance employability and promote personal growth during incarceration.

These comprehensive programs and services aim to address the diverse needs of individuals transitioning from incarceration to society, ultimately promoting successful reentry, reducing recidivism rates, and fostering positive outcomes for both individuals and communities.

Baker Reentry maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Visitation Information

Regular visiting is held on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (8:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time). Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. (7:15 a.m. CST) on both days. Visitors will not be processed after 2:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. CST) unless authorized by the duty warden. Visitors will be allowed to park in designated spaces no earlier than 7:30 a.m. EST and 6:30 a.m. CST on visiting days.

Regular visiting is permitted on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. (third Monday in January)
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Veteran's Day (November 11th)
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving; and
  • Christmas Day

If any of the holidays listed above falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed as a holiday. If any of these holidays fall on Sunday, then the following Monday will be observed as the holiday.
