Everglades Correctional (ECI) is a state prison operated by the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC), situated in Miami-Dade County. Functioning as a level V facility, ECI accommodates around 1,663 adult male inmates with custody levels ranging from minimum to closed custody. The institution prioritizes educational opportunities for its inmates, offering classes where they can attain adult basic education, work towards earning their GED, and improve their literacy skills. In addition to academic pursuits, ECI provides a wide array of substance abuse programs to address various needs, including intensive outpatient and outpatient services, pre-treatment motivation programs, and prevention programming.
