Franklin Co Sheriff is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

The Franklin Co Sheriff is a detention center located at 105 5th St SW Hampton, IA which is operated locally by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Franklin County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Hampton Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. When you contact one of these facilities, advise them that you are a Franklin County Prisoner and you need to arrange jail time. Once your time is set up, call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 641-456-2731 to inform them where you will be serving your time. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office will then send your paperwork to that facility.

You will then need to contact the jail directly to arrange jail time or visitation.
