Located at 1412 Plunkett Rd in Unadilla, GA, Dooly State Prison carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Dooly State Prison, established in 1994, serves as a medium-security facility housing general population inmates, including those who may not be suitable for county prisons due to their offenses or physical limitations. The prison offers a range of services and programs aimed at rehabilitation and inmate well-being.

With a capacity of 1,702, the prison comprises nine living units, each equipped to accommodate inmates in varying configurations, including triple-bunked cells and double-bunked cells. Additionally, there is an open living unit with separate areas, totaling 368 beds, and an isolation/segregation unit with 71 beds. The Fast Track Unit provides housing for 256 inmates. The facility also houses essential units such as the C.E.R.T. Team, Tactical Squad, and Fire Station.

Dooly State Prison offers a variety of work details for inmates, including fire fighter services, farm services, recycling, building and outside grounds maintenance, and support for external entities such as the Georgia National Fairgrounds, City of Warner Robins, and Crisp County.

In terms of programs, the prison provides academic education, counseling services (including individual and group counseling, sex offender psycho-educational programs, and moral recognition therapy), recreational activities, and religious services. Vocational and on-the-job training opportunities cover areas such as food service, laundry, painting, warehouse operations, sanitation, horticulture, maintenance repair, mechanic assistance, electrical and plumbing assistance, recycling, and clerical duties.

The prison's fully operational farm produces fresh vegetables for distribution to state facilities, contributing to the rehabilitation and self-sufficiency of inmates. Furthermore, Dooly State Prison serves as a sex offender release site and hosts the McEver Probation Detention Center, playing a vital role in the state's correctional system and community reintegration efforts.

Visitation Information

VISITATION DAYS / HOURS:

The first step in the visitation process is to become an approved visitor. To do so, you must first fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit a completed form to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Please include a copy of supporting documentation (photo id, marriage license, and birth certificate) along with the application. Consent forms must be notarized before they can be processed. All visitors must apply regardless of age. They must also be mailed to the facility where the offender is currently housed (email forms will not be accepted).

Dress Code - For adults: No tank tops, no mesh or see-through clothing, t-shirts cannot be sleeveless. No chest, shoulders, or stomach exposed. A skirt may not be more than 2 inches above the knee. No stretch pants or shorts may be worn. Only children are permitted to wear shorts. No Contraband is Permitted
