The Grundy County IL Jail is a detention center located at 111 E. Washington St Morris, IL which is operated locally by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Grundy County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Morris Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Inmate Visitation Schedule MALES: 7:00-9:00 P.M. WEDNESDAYS 1:00-3:00 P.M. SUNDAYS FEMALES: 9:00-10:00 P.M. WEDNESDAYS 3:00-4:00 P.M. SUNDAYS Visiting Rules: NO MORE THAN 2 VISITORS at a time per inmate and one visit per visiting day unless approved in advance by the Sheriff and/or the Jail Superintendent. All visitors MUST SHOW a state issued Photo ID or Passport to visit. No one under the age of 17 will be allowed to visit without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visits are 15 minutes. All visitors must sign in with a Correctional Officer. All visitors are subject to search at any time. No Cell Phones are allowed in the visitation room. No food, drinks or smoking is allowed in the visitation room.
