The Hall Co Jail is a detention center located at 1700 Barber Rd Gainesville, GA which is operated locally by the Hall County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Hall County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Gainesville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Georgia here.

The Hall County Jail, inaugurated in December 2007, stands as a beacon of modernity, boasting cutting-edge technology and an intricately designed layout. With a capacity of 1,026 beds in its main facility, complemented by 148 beds for male and female work release and accommodation for up to 60 inmates under the house arrest program, it stands as a cornerstone of correctional infrastructure. The Jail is next door to the Hall County Correctional Institution, a state work release prison for 240 beds.

Operating under the umbrella of the Hall County Sheriff's Office, the jail division comprises a team of 200 dedicated officers and clerks. Their purview extends beyond mere incarceration, encompassing a spectrum of responsibilities within the Sheriff's Service Division. In addition to custodial duties, this division manages inmate transportation to and from court proceedings and medical appointments with precision and efficiency.

Moreover, the division orchestrates a robust warrant service unit, executing an average of 600 arrest warrants monthly. Leveraging inmate labor, the division assumes the upkeep of all Sheriff's Office facilities, ensuring pristine grounds maintenance.

The Jail's operations are bifurcated into two main sections. The administrative arm oversees training, clerical functions, kitchen operations, transportation logistics, work release, house arrest programs, and warrant management. Meanwhile, the second section is dedicated to the paramount concerns of inmate safety, security, and the day-to-day operations of housing facilities.
