Located at 1329 N Lake St in Aurora, IL, Fox Valley ATC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Fox Valley ATC offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

Fox Valley ATC, originally the Kane County Springbrook Tuberculosis Sanitarium, has transformed into a beacon of hope for transitional security and rehabilitation. Nestled in a single four-story brick structure, this facility, now a Transitional Security Adult Female facility, embodies the Illinois Department of Corrections' commitment to fostering positive transitions from incarceration to community life. With a capacity to accommodate up to 128 female residents, Fox Valley ATC offers a supportive environment where individuals are empowered to pursue full-time employment or engage in educational and vocational training, guided by a structured four-step level system and the assistance of dedicated counselors and programs.

Having evolved from its origins as a work release facility for male offenders, Fox Valley Community Correctional Center transitioned to a female-focused institution in August 2000, joining the esteemed Women and Family Services Division of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Today, the center stands as a testament to the department's dedication to meeting the unique needs of female offenders and facilitating their successful reintegration into society.

The facility's comprehensive programming encompasses various domains crucial for successful reentry and personal development. Academic offerings, including Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Development (GED) courses, provide residents with foundational knowledge and skills essential for future educational and career pursuits. Additionally, opportunities for college courses in the community further empower individuals to expand their academic horizons and pursue higher education.

Complementing these educational initiatives are volunteer services that cater to the holistic well-being of residents. From religious programs and 12 Step Recovery meetings to life skills workshops, substance abuse counseling, and anger management sessions, residents have access to a range of resources designed to support their emotional, spiritual, and psychological growth. The Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program further addresses the specific needs of former service members, providing tailored assistance to facilitate their successful transition back into civilian life.

Beyond structured programming, Fox Valley ATC recognizes the importance of leisure and recreational activities in promoting overall well-being and socialization. Residents can partake in leisure time activities, access library services, and engage in meaningful interactions within the facility's supportive community environment. Through its multifaceted approach to rehabilitation and reentry, Fox Valley ATC remains steadfast in its mission to empower female offenders to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society upon their return to the community.
