Robinson Correctional, situated in Crawford County, is a minimum-security prison dedicated to the rehabilitation of adult male inmates. Located near Robinson City and just 6.5 miles from the Indiana border, the facility is strategically positioned 230 miles south of Chicago. Housing up to 1,202 inmates across six units, the center places a strong emphasis on education and vocational training to support the reintegration of inmates into society. Various programs and services, including substance abuse treatment, parenting courses, anger management, and life skills counseling, are offered to promote personal development and readiness for life beyond bars.
Spanning 100 acres, Robinson Correctional Center comprises 23 buildings, providing over 200,000 square feet of space. These buildings include housing units, administrative facilities, educational and vocational centers, medical and segregation units, and recreational areas. The center offers a diverse range of vocational programs, from culinary arts to horticulture, as well as a two-year college degree program, empowering inmates with valuable skills and qualifications. Maintenance, warehouse, and training facilities beyond the perimeter fence further enhance the center's infrastructure.
