Detainee Visiting Regulations - In 2013, the Kane County Adult Justice Center began utilizing a video visitation system for Detainees to visit with their families and other professionals. For your convenience, an online registration and scheduling module has been configured.
Registering For and Scheduling a Visit - The first step in the visitation process is for the Detainee to complete an "Approved Visitors List." The list is comprised of individual names that the Detainee has requested and is allowed to receive visitors.
Only immediate family members on the Detainee's "Approved Visitors List" may visit with a Detainee. These people may include spouses, grandparents, parents (father and/or mother), siblings (brothers and/or sisters), children, and grandchildren; plus one (1) significant other (this can be any person of the detainee's choosing).
Once the Approved Visitors List has been completed, an approved visitor needs to register as a user in the system.
- During the registration process, new users are required to create a username and password.
- Write the username and password down as it must be retained and cannot be retrieved.
- Service representatives at the Kane County Sheriff's Office cannot retrieve this information for you at a later date.

Visitation Center Rules
- All visitors must arrive fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled visitation start time to check-in.
- Visitors not arriving 15 minutes before the scheduled start time will not be allowed their visit.
- All visitors must possess a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, or State issued ID card.
- All children (under the age of eighteen (18)) must be accompanied by an adult and shall possess a copy of the child's birth certificate.
- Visitors may also be asked to provide proof of relationship to the Detainee.
- Proof of relationship can be accomplished via a birth certificate, marriage license, adoption papers, or other legal documents.
- The Kane County Sheriff's Office Lobby Rules must be followed at all times.
- All persons and property on the Sheriff's Office grounds are subject to being searched.
- No cameras, cell phones, "Smart Watches," MP3 players, and/or any other electronic devices are allowed.
- If it is discovered that you have taken any photographs in the facility the camera or photographic device may be confiscated.
- Bags, purses, briefcases, and/or other items are not allowed in the visiting area.
