The Keith County NE Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 103 E 5th St Ogallala, NE which is operated locally by the Keith County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Keith County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Ogallala Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Nebraska here.

Built in 1978, the current jail has a single cell capacity of 14 inmates plus two holding cells. Though not the most modern facility, it is in compliance with Nebraska Jail Standards and Prison Rape Elimination Act or PREA, serving the counties of Keith, Perkins, and Arthur. Keith County Jail is an adult facility, housing offenders 18 and over only. The jail employs one chief jailer or lieutenant, one sergeant, and up to five, full and part-time jailers.
