Located at 30 Admin Rd in Bridgewater, MA, MTC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. MTC offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The MTC serves as a medium security facility housing two distinct populations: criminally sentenced male inmates identified as sex offenders and those civilly committed as sexually dangerous persons. The facility's mission is twofold:

  • For Civil Commitment Population: MTC aims to promote public safety by providing a secure and structured treatment environment for court-ordered civil commitments. Through medically monitored detoxification services, education on positive behavioral change, and aftercare planning, MTC seeks to facilitate healthier lifestyles upon reentry to the community.
  • For Minimum-Security Inmate Population: MTC strives to ensure public safety through safe and humane custody practices while fostering an atmosphere of increased responsibility and accountability among offenders. By promoting positive interactions between inmates, staff, and the public, MTC aims to facilitate successful reintegration into society.

Inmates at MTC engage in a variety of job assignments intended to foster positive behavioral change and develop work skills and ethics. Participation in paid job assignments may earn inmates good time. Re-entry planning is a key focus, supported by various programs including Public Safety Transition, education programs (GED, ABE, ESL), and initiatives such as Finding the Spirit, Fatherhood, Anger Management, and Relapse Prevention. Inmates also have access to recreational activities both indoors and outdoors, including facilities for sports and leisure activities.

Furthermore, MTC offers educational programs for friends and family members of those committed, covering aftercare options and men's health issues. The facility remains committed to continuously researching and implementing additional programming options to support the rehabilitation and successful reintegration of its inmate population.

Inmate Locator

MTC maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
