The Marietta Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) is a low/medium-security detention center located at 1575 County Services Pkwy, SW Marietta, GA which is operated locally by the Cobb Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. Marietta Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) accepts inmates from the Cobb County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Marietta Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Program Description:

Provides temporary, secure care and supervision to youths who are charged with crimes or who have been found guilty of crimes and are awaiting disposition of their cases by a juvenile court. Additionally, youths committed to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice are frequently held in secure detention while awaiting placement in one of DJJ's treatment programs or facilities.

Also provides education, individual guidance and counseling, medical services, recreation, and arts and crafts. Clothing, meals, and medical and emergency dental care are a part of each center's basic care program.
