MCC-Women is for State Prison offenders sentenced anywhere from one year to life by the State Court in the county where the charges were filed

All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for State - medium facility.

Located at 17 Mallison Falls Rd in Windham, ME, MCC-Women carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. MCC-Women offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

The Women's Center, a medium to minimum security state institution, accommodates approximately 147 adult female inmates and serves as the primary reception center for assessing and diagnosing many individuals for the Maine Department of Corrections (ME DOC).

The facility offers a range of services tailored to meet the needs of its residents, including various worship services catering to different religions. Additionally, the Chaplain's Office provides counseling, grief support, and other programs aimed at supporting the well-being of the inmates.

While incarcerated at the Women's Center, offenders have the opportunity to pursue educational goals such as earning a GED, as well as participating in a variety of vocational courses.

The mission of the Women's Center is to reduce recidivism and promote accountability among female offenders by employing evidence-based and gender-informed practices. Recognizing the impact of trauma on the pathways to incarceration for women, the center aims to provide educational and vocational opportunities that address individual needs and foster personal growth during incarceration.

Inmate Locator

MCC-Women maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Visitation Information

If you would like to visit a resident at Maine Correctional Center, you must first complete a Visitor Application (Please see right-hand column) and pass a background check. The resident you are applying to visit will be notified of your approval and they are responsible for notifying you. If you are denied visitation, you will be sent a letter to the mailing address you provided with an explanation of why you were denied.

WHEN A VISIT CAN BE SCHEDULED

UNITS VISITATION SCHEDULE - Schedule a Visit through GTL, the new Video Visitation service provider Visits must be scheduled two business days in advance. Visit requests completed after 4:00 pm will be considered as the next business day.
