North Lake Correctional Facility, situated in Baldwin, Lake County, Michigan, is a privately owned medium- and maximum-security prison catering to male inmates. Operated by GEO Group under contract for the Michigan Department of Corrections, the facility currently houses up to 1,741 inmates.

Originally constructed in 1999 by Wackenhut to accommodate Michigan's youth offenders, the prison underwent expansion by GEO Group, increasing its capacity from 500 to 1,700 beds during the late 2000s. In June 2015, approximately 280 high-security inmates from Vermont, who had been convicted of crimes in other out-of-state prisons, were transferred to the Baldwin facility from locations in Arizona and Kentucky. This influx of prisoners was anticipated to generate around 150 job opportunities, according to County Commissioner Dan Sloan.

However, GEO Group notified Vermont in June 2017 of its decision to terminate the contract, prompting Vermont Corrections to initiate plans for relocating the prisoners from the North Lake Correctional Facility.
