Located at 1200 Prison Rd in Lovelock, NV, LCC carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. LCC offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

LCC, situated in Pershing County, was established in two phases, with the first phase opening in August 1995, featuring two 168-cell housing units. These units, with 80-square-foot cells designed for two inmates each, formed the foundation of the facility. Subsequently, construction on the second phase commenced, resulting in the addition of two more 168-cell units and two 84-cell units, increasing the institution's capacity to a budgeted 1,680 offenders.

The staffing at Lovelock Correctional Center comprises 213 Protective Service personnel along with a complement of professional and skilled staff members. This team ensures the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the facility, contributing to its mission of providing custodial supervision and rehabilitation services to inmates.

As a medium-custody facility, Lovelock houses general population inmates alongside close-custody protective segregation inmates. Additionally, a separate unit accommodates a small number of minimum-custody inmates. With its diverse inmate population, Lovelock Correctional Center has a total capacity of approximately 1,680 individuals, reflecting its commitment to addressing the varying security and rehabilitative needs of its residents.

Lovelock Correctional Center boasts a comprehensive array of programs aimed at promoting inmate education, vocational training, and treatment services. Inmates are afforded the opportunity to enroll in educational classes to pursue a GED, high school diploma, or even college degree, thereby enhancing their academic qualifications and prospects for successful reintegration into society upon release.

One of the institution's flagship programs is the Structured Living Program (SLP), which has garnered significant success. Initially conceived as a 10-week military-style orientation program, SLP has evolved into a six-month regimen offering inmates the chance to earn Merit Credits, participate in classes, programs, and education, secure employment, and engage in physical fitness training. This program exemplifies Lovelock's commitment to providing structured and transformative experiences for its inmate population.

Moreover, Lovelock Correctional Center offers vocational training opportunities in various fields, including dry cleaning, culinary food service, computers, horticulture, RESPECT, ServSafe, and automotive maintenance and repair. These vocational programs equip inmates with valuable skills and certifications that enhance their employability and facilitate their successful reentry into the workforce upon release.

Complementing its educational and vocational offerings, Lovelock maintains its medical and mental health staff dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the inmate population. This ensures that inmates have access to essential healthcare services, including medical treatment, mental health counseling, and substance abuse rehabilitation, fostering their overall well-being and rehabilitation journey.

In essence, Lovelock Correctional Center stands as a cornerstone of Nevada's corrections system, providing a secure and rehabilitative environment for its inmates. Through its comprehensive programs and services, the facility endeavors to promote inmate rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and facilitate successful reintegration into society, ultimately contributing to public safety and the well-being of communities across the state.
