Located at 11781 St Rte 762 in Orient, OH, PCI carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. PCI offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

PCI is a state facility housing primarily minimum and medium custody inmates, with a population of around 2,143 inmates. It also cares for chronically ill offenders through the Frazier Health Center. PCI operates five Ohio Prison Industry shops, providing inmates employment and generating revenue for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Inmates have access to mental health and addiction services, including the OASIS program, and advanced job training through Sinclair Community College.

The OASIS Therapeutic Community at PCI is a collaborative effort addressing substance abuse among male offenders. It focuses on right living and recovery through a shared therapeutic structure, offering both intensive and long-term programs. The OPI Print Shop, a full-service printing facility, employs offenders in various production tasks. Sinclair Community College offers advanced job training courses, aiming to increase employability upon release, taught by faculty both traditionally and via distance learning.

Reading rooms at PCI encourage family literacy, providing a comfortable setting for children and incarcerated parents, with inmate narrators reading to visiting children twice a day. Community services include partnerships with organizations like Crayons to Computers and Pilot Dogs. Academic programs include adult basic education, pre-GED, and GED courses, along with vocational programs like Administrative Office Technology. Industries at PCI encompass modular furniture production, meat processing, printing, and warehousing, providing inmates with valuable skills and employment opportunities. Additionally, PCI hosts programs like the Adoptable Dog Program, enriching the lives of both inmates and animals.

Visitation Information

Visit reservations must be made through the ViaPath portal. Visiting hours are subject to change without notice. Please call the institution to confirm hours before visiting.

First-time visitors must complete an orientation session, which begins promptly at noon for the first session (12:15 - 3:15 p.m.) or 4 p.m. for the second session (4:30 - 7:30 p.m.). Please have documents ready for visitation (custody paperwork, birth certificate, authorization of minor child form, etc.) or the visitor will not be permitted to enter.
