Located at 5701 Burnett Rd in Leavittsburg, OH, Trumbull Correctional carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. Trumbull Correctional offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

TCI houses around 1,520 adult male inmates in close custody, with an additional minimum camp (TCC) for lower-custody inmates. The main facility is lauded as one of Ohio's safest and most effective level 3 prisons for inmate rehabilitation. TCI engages inmates in prison industries such as recycling and pallet programs and offers educational opportunities including adult basic education, literacy classes, and vocational training in culinary arts, carpentry, plumbing, welding, and more. Inmates also contribute to the community through activities like dog training for adoption and crafting items for the homeless.

Unique programs at TCI include Family Worship services, Music with Purpose classes, the Wellness Unit focusing on holistic health, and the Restorative Justice Unit where inmates give back to the community through service projects. The Certified Electronics Technician Program teaches inmates electronics skills and encourages recycling, while the Reading Room promotes family literacy through inmate-led story sessions. The ONE STOP project prepares offenders for job readiness upon release, offering a structured plan of action and resume-building support.

Inmate groups at TCI include Free Indeed, World Cultural Organization, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and others, fostering camaraderie and personal development. In addition to academic courses, TCI provides vocational programs like carpentry, drafting, electronics, and food service, with opportunities for apprenticeships in various fields. The Western Reserve School within the institution offers GED, High School Options, Pre-GED, and Adult Basic Education, all taught by licensed teachers. Advanced Job Training through Youngstown State University and Aramark prepares inmates for employment post-release.

The prison's industries include recycling and pallet programs, while reentry-approved programs like Thinking for a Change and Inside Out Dad focus on rehabilitation and family reintegration. TCI's holistic approach to inmate rehabilitation combines education, vocational training, community service, and personal development initiatives to prepare offenders for successful reentry into society.

Making Reservations

Reservations must be made for all visits for both TCI and TCC via the online visitor portal. Each visitor (including children) must register online and receive a visitor ID number. This number will be used for all future reservations.

Currently approved visitors must create an account, then unit staff will be notified to confirm it in the system. The confirmation process may take up to five business days. Once the account is confirmed, reservations may be scheduled.

New visitors will be required to complete a hard copy of the application form and submit it with the required supporting documentation. Applied visitors may create an account but will not be permitted to schedule visits until their application is approved and unit staff have confirmed their account.

When making reservations, all visitors attending the visit must be listed on the reservation and be on the incarcerated individual’s approved visitors list. Reservations must be made for in-person visits at least three days, and no more than 30 days, in advance of the visit. Cancelations must be made at least three days prior to the scheduled visit to avoid penalty. Reservations must be made for video visits at least 24 hours in advance.

Visitation Permissions

Visiting is limited to a maximum of five visitors per incarcerated individual at one time, including walking children over 10 years old, unless special arrangements have been made in advance.
