The Perry Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 2211 Herrman St Tell City, IN which is operated locally by the Perry County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Perry County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Tell City Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Indiana here.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center opened in June, 2014. The facility features a security-minded floor plan, the latest detention center technology and a safe, more secure pre-trial detention area and is located just behind the Perry County Courthouse in Tell City, Indiana.

Prior to the construction of the new Detention Center, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office was located in Cannelton, IN. The “Old Jail” was constructed in 1965 and had enough beds for only 46 inmates. It was in service until June of 2014 when the “New Jail” opened its doors at its current location with 136 beds.

Inmate Commissary Account - Family and friends can deposit money in an inmate’s account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via the Stellar system kiosk located in the lobby of the Perry County Detention Center. There is a $2.00 fee associated with applying funds to an inmate’s account. If you are unable to come to the lobby of the Detention Center, you may also go online to JailATM.com to apply for funds.

You may also send a Money Order in the amount desired via postal service. Read the Inmate Communication Guidelines for further details. Acceptable items received will be applied to the inmate’s account as soon as they are processed.
