The Richmond City Jail (RCJC) is a very short-term lock-up used for temporary inmate holds. The security is heavy as the police department maintains their center of operation here, too. Call for new arrests at 804-646-4464. Inmates are not afforded similar privileges as a county or city jail. there is no commissary or mail. No phone calls as a service for the inmate. Any offender movements are escorted while handcuffed and shackled. If you land here, it'll be no more than a 72-hour stay. The next stop is the nearest county jail

Facility Type

A police jail for housing inmates immediately after their arrest. Inmates held at the prison_name located in prison_city, prison_state have a very short term stay awaiting bail or transfer to a more intermediate holding facility. This police jail is more like a county jail with not as many beds. The inmates are provided with three square meals and access to shower and bathroom facilities. There are controlled movements once outside the general cell. There is a no recreation/gym area, no library, and no commissary. You can communicate with your inmate by mail (consider the short-term stay though before posting) but very limited phone use.
