The San Juan County WA Jail is a medium-security detention center located at 96 2nd St N Friday Harbor, WA which is operated locally by the San Juan County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. San Juan County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Friday Harbor Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office maintains a temporary facility in Friday Harbor. All persons taken into custody are held in the Friday Harbor holding facility. Inmates who are awaiting trial or serving a sentence are sent to the Yakima County Correctional Facility.

The Sheriff's Office operates an electronically home monitored work program for selected inmates. Inmates on this program work on projects that are designed to benefit the county tax-payer. Some inmates participate in a Work Release program where they are permitted to maintain regular employment but are restricted to their home except when at work.
