The Spartanburg Co Jail Annex II is a detention center located at 180 N Daniel Morgan Ave Spartanburg, SC which is operated locally by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Spartanburg County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Spartanburg Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. As a branch of the Sheriff's Office, the mission of the Spartanburg County Detention Center is to protect the public by securely detaining individuals who have been arrested and accused of committing various offenses against Spartanburg County citizens. The goal of the detention center is to ethically and legally provide a secure, sanitary and safe place of pre-trial incarceration in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible, while ensuring inmates receive humane, respectful and professional treatment from detention personnel. Detention administration assures continued oversight and compliance with standards set forth by the State and Local Jail Standards, while providing realistic career development, strategic planning, training and safety for management and staff personnel.

Major departmental initiatives include but are not limited to:

  • Cooperation with other criminal justice agencies to provide efficient coordination and use of resources.

Visitors must follow the dress code and behavior guidelines whether they are visiting here or from their computer/smartphone. Violations may result in the termination of the visit.

Online Video Visitation
Online visits can be scheduled in advance, allowing remote connection from home or work. Visitors must set up an account and adhere to dress and behavior guidelines. Visits cost a minimum of $0.25 per minute and are monitored for security.
