The Ste. Genevieve Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 5 Basler Dr St Genevieve, MO which is operated locally by the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Ste. Genevieve County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, St Genevieve Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Missouri here.

The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office Detention Center stands as a modern facility designed to accommodate approximately 300 detainees daily, serving the law enforcement needs of the community. With a team of 35 full-time deputies and correctional officers, the Detention Center operates efficiently to fulfill its responsibilities. These duties include not only the daily housing of detainees but also the transportation of detainees to and from court, managing in-state and out-of-state extraditions, and upholding facility security protocols. The detainees held within the facility encompass a broad spectrum, ranging from civil detainees to individuals charged with serious felonies.

Individuals seeking further information about the Detention Facility can reach out to Jail Administrator Lt. Andrew Johnson via email at ajohnson@sgcso.com.

For those requiring a Letter of Incarceration but are no longer incarcerated in the facility, a written request must be submitted. This request should be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope and directed to the custodian of records. It is imperative that requests originate directly from the individual who was incarcerated, rather than from a third party.

Alternatively, for individuals currently detained in the facility, a General Request for a Letter of Incarceration can be submitted. Upon receipt of this request, the facility will provide the necessary documentation. It is the responsibility of the detainee to handle the mailing of the Letter of Incarceration to the appropriate party or agency. Notably, the facility does not undertake mailing, faxing, or emailing of these documents.

By adhering to these procedures, the facility maintains transparency and accountability in managing detainee records and communication processes.

Inmate Locator

Ste. Genevieve County Detention Center publishes the names of the inmates currently in their facility in Missouri. Your search should start with this locator first to see if your loved one is there.

The second box is the InmateAid Inmate Search. This database of inmates is user-generated content to access and utilize any or all of the InmateAid services. If you need our assistance creating your inmate profile to keep in touch, email us at aid@inmateaid.com and we will assist you in locating your inmate.

As a last resort, you might have to pay for that information if we do not have it. The Arrest Record Search will cost you a small amount, but their data is the freshest available and for that reason, they charge to access it.

Ask The Inmate

Ask a former inmate questions at no charge. The inmate answering has spent considerable time in the federal prison system, state and county jails, and in a prison that was run by the private prison entity CCA.
