Located at 10745 Route 18 in Albion, PA, SCI Albion carefully assigns inmates based on their custody level, considering factors like criminal history. SCI Albion offers diverse educational and vocational programs aimed at equipping offenders for successful reintegration into society and reducing recidivism. Through these initiatives, inmates gain skills and confidence, fostering personal growth and resilience.

SCI Albion, a mixed custody state prison, accommodates approximately 2,300 medium and close-custody male inmates. The facility offers a range of programs aimed at behavioral change, including sex offender treatment, alcohol and substance abuse programs, life skills training, and parenting courses. Inmates have the opportunity to work in the correctional industries program, which employs 90 inmates in a bagged inmate commissary service responsible for packaging and shipping orders to prisons statewide. Vocational training is available in computer technology, business practices, warehouse and material handling, and custodial maintenance, with industry certifications offered for most courses.

Covering a 357-acre area, SCI Albion includes 67 acres within the perimeter fence and encompasses 22 operational structures, including ten housing units featuring cells and dormitory-style accommodations. Special features include a Special Needs Unit (SNU) and a Residential Treatment Unit (RTU).

Academic education at SCI Albion extends up to the GED level, while vocational education encompasses business practices, custodial maintenance, and warehouse/material handling, among others. Most vocational courses offer industry-recognized certifications. Inmate programs cover a wide range of areas, including family relationships, sex offender treatment, re-entry preparation, substance abuse, and mental health support.

The correctional industries program includes a Commissary Distribution Center established in November 2010, employing 80 inmates to provide bagged inmate commissary services to seven assigned state prisons. The center processes, packs, and ships orders to these facilities.

In addition to vocational and rehabilitative programs, SCI Albion offers a Community Work Program (CWP) involving various projects in local communities. These projects include cleaning parks, painting, grounds maintenance for community organizations, and assistance with event set-up. Through these initiatives, inmates contribute positively to their communities while gaining valuable skills and experiences.

Inmate Locator

SCI Albion maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.

If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.

Ask The Inmate

Ask a former inmate questions at no charge. The inmate answering has spent considerable time in the federal prison system, state and county jails, and in a prison that was run by the private prison entity CCA. Ask your question or browse previous questions in response to comments or further questions of members of the InmateAid community.
