Sublette County Detention Center is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for County - medium facility.

The Sublette County Detention Center is a detention center located at PO Box 701 35 1/2 S Tyler Pinedale, WY which is operated locally by the Sublette County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Sublette County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Pinedale Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Wyoming here.

The Sublette County Detention Center is comprised of four jail pods. The County will fill vacant cells with contract prisoners from surrounding counties and the U.S. Marshal's Office. The County has routinely rented cell space to other counties for the past 15 years. The Detention Center currently hold a maximum of 50 inmates.

Family and friends may deposit money in an inmate’s account either in person or via mail.

Inmate Visitation Rules:

  • Must have valid ID when you come to visit.
  • Must be over 18 to visit.
  • Persons on probation/parole are not allowed to visit.
  • All visits will be non-contact in nature.
  • Anyone wearing immodest or improper clothing will not be allowed to visit.
  • Inmates have the right to refuse any visitor.
  • Only two visitors per inmate will be allowed at one time in the visitation room.
  • All visits will be limited to twenty (20) minutes and may be reduced if the number of visitors exceeds the allotted time.
  • Visitors shall not be verbally abusive, disruptive or disorderly prior to or during any visit. They may be subject to arrest or required to leave.
  • Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to visit and maybe subject to arrest.
  • Violation of any of the above regulations may result in loss of visitation for both inmates and visitors.
