It is the policy of the Middle River Regional Jail to facilitate offender visitation with family, counsel, and clergy. All visitors must register an account and schedule a visit using the following link: https://middleriverva.gtlvisitme.com/app
Visitors must schedule a visit online from 2 to 14 days in advance. Offenders will receive one 15 minute visit each week. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE VISITOR TO SCHEDULE THEIR VISIT ONLINE.
Offenders are not eligible for visitation during the first few days of incarceration to allow for classification and placement into specified housing. You will receive an error message until you are able to schedule the visit.
Visits for General Population offenders are scheduled depending upon the area an offender is housed in at MRRJ. These visits will be conducted in our Face to Face Visitation area.
Visitation times are scheduled according to the inmate’s housing assignment. Once a visit begins, no new visitors that show up late will be permitted to enter the visitation room.
- Visitors must be signed in 30 minutes prior to visitation end. For example, if visitation ends at 4:15 pm than you should be at the facility no later than 3:45 pm to sign in.
- All inmates receive One (1) fifteen (15) minute visit per week.
- Former inmates must wait 3 months after being released before visiting.
- Any visitor that violates visitation rules may be banned from visitation.
- All who wish to visit shall follow the rules and regulations for visitation.
- All visitors are subject to being searched.
- Anyone who is intoxicated shall be denied access into the facility and may be subject to arrest.
- Handbags, purses, backpacks, umbrellas, cell phones, cameras, or any other personal items shall be left in the vehicle.
REGISTRATION
- All visitors must register with the officer on duty
- Each visitor will be required to provide a picture ID and must be over the age of 18
- Any visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Any visitor not on the inmate's visitation list will be denied visitation.
DRESS POLICY FOR ALL VISITORS (PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL)
- No see-through clothing
- No Bathing Suits
- No tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, or crop tops
- No clothing that exposes the stomach, back, shoulders, chest, midriff, or underarms.
- No mini skirts
- Dresses, shorts, and skirts must be no shorter than three inches above the knee
- Shoes must be worn
- No clothing with obscene language or pictures
- No clothing resembling security uniforms or inmate clothing
- No items of clothing deemed inappropriate by the shift supervisor
- No cell phones, cameras, or any electronic device will be allowed.
You will need to call at least 15 minutes before you arrive. You will need to give the receptionist the names of three inmates you wish to see. Upon arrival you can request to see additional inmates to the Visitation Officer. You should also let the Receptionist know when you have arrived and know when you are leaving.
Attorney visits are permitted during normal business hours. After business hours they must contact the Watch Commander on duty to make special arrangements. Visits between inmates and attorneys are private and confidential.

MINISTER VISITS - Ministers must be on this facility's approved minister list and on the inmate's visitation list in order to visit. All ministers must be able to show proof of ID prior to each visit. All minister visits will be no longer than 20 minutes. If you are not an approved minister contact the Programs Director.
