The Weld Co Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 2110 "O" St Greeley, CO which is operated locally by the Weld County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Weld County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Greeley Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Colorado here.

The Weld County Jail aims to provide inmates with an environment resembling life outside, fostering rehabilitation and self-improvement. While incarceration may serve as a chance for individuals to reflect and reassess their lives, the jail also offers various programs and activities to support this process.

Inmates at the Weld County Jail may spend up to 14 hours a day in lockdown, but during designated periods, they have access to facilities such as the library, recreational areas, and educational classes. The jail, operated by the sheriff's office, primarily holds individuals accused or convicted of felony or misdemeanor crimes in Greeley, Erie, Hudson, or Berthoud.

Upon arrival, new prisoners undergo medical and mental health assessments, ensuring immediate care if needed. Counseling services are also available to address mental health concerns or suicidal thoughts. Classification procedures help determine suitable housing arrangements based on factors like charges and behavior, prioritizing safety.

Inmate housing units, called "Pods," consist of individual rooms connected to a larger area, monitored by correctional officers around the clock. Despite lockdowns, inmates have ample time outside their cells each day for activities and meals. Medical services, including clinics and nurse consultations, are regularly provided, with co-payments for non-emergency appointments.

Nutritious meals are served three times daily, and recreation time is scheduled weekly, both indoors and outdoors. The jail offers an in-house library and hygiene supplies, with opportunities for self-improvement programs and grievance procedures available to address complaints.

Inmate mail undergoes screening, with certain items not accepted for safety reasons. Inmates can manage a money account for medical visits and commissary purchases, which include personal items not provided by the jail. Overall, the Weld County Jail strives to maintain a supportive and secure environment while promoting rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
