Wood Co Jail is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.
All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for County - medium facility.

The Wood Co Jail is a detention center located at 402 S Stephens St Quitman, TX which is operated locally by the Wood County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Wood County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Quitman Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Texas here.
Inmate Trust Fund/Commissary - All inmates, once they have been booked into custody, will have an account opened in their name. Any money on them at the time of arrest will be entered into this account.

The money will be added to their account. NO CASH or MONEY ORDERS will be accepted by the jail staff. Once the money is added to an account, it cannot be removed unless the inmate is released from our facility, has medical charges or commissary purchases. Commissary orders are posted on the computer on Wednesday morning. NO items will be accepted in through the jail window unless it has been pre-approved and these items are not available from the inmate commissary vendor.

Males: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Visits will be 20 minutes in length and have intervals between each visit that will be 5 minutes long
Inmates will be allowed 2 on-site visits per week not to exceed 1 visit/day
At-home visits will cost $20 for Family and Friends $10 for attorneys
At home visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance
Approval for visits will be made by Wood County Detention Center Staff
