The WV Regional Jail Authority – Northern Regional Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 112 Northern Regional Correctional Dr Moundsville, WV which is operated locally by the Marshall Regional Authority and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates have been here for less than five years. WV Regional Jail Authority – Northern Regional Jail accepts inmates from the Marshall County Sheriff's arrests and surrounding towns, Moundsville Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. The Northern Regional Jail is located in Moundsville in Marshall County. This facility, which opened in October of 1994, is one of the only facilities in the country that houses both a regional jail and a prison.

Tuesdays from 8:00AM - 9:00AM for a Wednesday Visit
Thursdays from 8:00AM - 9:00AM for a Sunday/Monday Visit
Each inmate may receive only one (1) visit per day.
Visitors should arrive at the facility at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled visitation time.
All visitation rules will be followed, or the visit will be terminated.

Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or submit a notarized statement from the parent or legal guardian authorizing the visit. Only non-incarcerated parents or legal guardians may authorize juvenile visitation. If not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian the visitor must be accompanied by an authorized adult visitor, and must have a signed, notarized
