York County NE Jail is for County Jail offenders sentenced up to twenty four months.

All prisons and jails have Security or Custody levels depending on the inmate’s classification, sentence, and criminal history. Please review the rules and regulations for County - medium facility.

The York County NE Jail is a low/medium-security detention center located at 510 Lincoln Ave York, NE which is operated locally by the York County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. York County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, York Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals. You can see all the arrest records for Nebraska here.

Inmates may buy telephone cards, which are sold at $20 per card and must be purchased through the jail/commissary.

Any item(s), including money dropped off for any inmate in York County Corrections must be dropped off at the window between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday or during visitation hours. (No items will be accepted after these hours. This does not include bond money, which will be collected 24 hours a day.)

All bond money collected has to be cash. (No checks or credit cards are accepted at the jail.) You can add money with a debit or credit card online by going to Tiger Deposit and following the instructions.

Property

The ONLY ACCEPTABLE ITEMS allowed in York County Corrections are:

  • Puzzles, books or magazines (with no staples) will be accepted, but they must be donated to York County Corrections Library. No puzzle books/magazines will be accepted.
  • No paperwork, pictures, etc. wil be accepted through the window. It must be mailed.
  • Clothing:
    4 pair white socks
    4 pair underwear
    4 pair WHITE T-SHIRTS ONLY
  • (Note: Inmates will not be able to send their dirty clothes out and have fresh clothes brought in. Inmates are provided laundry service twice a week.)
  • There will be no exchanging of items through the window.

Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Visitation Rules

    1. You MUST sign in with visitation office no earlier than 30 minutes before start of visitation to get your time. At that poin, you can leave and come back at your visitation time. You are permitted one 30 minute visit. (Note: Your visitation will start at the time the officer gives you. If you are late, you will not get extended time.)
    2. Visits are first come, first served and specific times may not be requested. An individual may not schedule and appointment for someone other than themselves.
    3. You must be 18 years old or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
    4. No smoking in the visitation rooms.
    5. No food or drinks are allowed in the visitation rooms.
    6. Cell phones ARE NOT allowed in the visitation rooms.
    7. Writing utensils ARE NOT allowed in the visitation rooms.
    8. If you come with small children, please keep them inside the room with you at all times.
    9. Noise should be kept at a level so as not to disturb other visitors.

ANY VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL TERMINATE YOUR VISIT IMMEDIATELY AND COULD AFFECT YOUR VISITS IN THE FUTURE.

Once your visit is over, you need to sign out and leave. There will be NO LOITERING in the lobby after your visit.
