Inmates do not have internet access and cannot set up or manage their own profiles on InmateAid. Everything on the profile is either pulled from public inmate search databases, which may include a booking photo or mugshot, or uploaded by a family member or friend who created the profile.

If you want to add a photo to your family member's profile, you do not have to use a mugshot or a jail photo. Use a picture from before their incarceration, something that shows them at their best. A photo from a family gathering, a vacation, or any moment from better times works perfectly. The profile is for your use and for staying organized around their incarceration, and a photo that reflects who they are as a person rather than a booking image makes the experience more human.

To update the profile photo, log into your InmateAid account, go to the inmate's profile, and look for the option to upload or change the photo. If you run into any trouble, reach out to InmateAid directly and we can walk you through it.
