Yes, completely and without exception. Every letter and every photo you write and upload through InmateAid is printed and mailed via US Postal Service directly to the facility you selected. There is no middleman holding anything back and no filtering of content beyond what the facility's own mail room would apply to any incoming mail.

The process is straightforward. You write the letter and upload any photos through your account. InmateAid prints everything and sends it out through the postal system, typically within one to two business days. From there it travels through standard US Mail to the facility, where it goes through the mail room inspection process the same as any other piece of incoming mail. Once it clears inspection, it reaches your inmate at mail call.

The only scenario where a letter does not reach its destination is if it is returned to us as undeliverable, which happens when an address or inmate ID is incorrect, or in cases where a facility has changed its mail policy. When that happens, we notify you immediately and give you the option to resend with corrected information or receive a refund.

InmateAid has been delivering mail to inmates across more than 10,000 facilities since 2012. The service works because it has to. Families depending on it to stay connected with someone inside deserve nothing less than complete reliability.
