When your inmate writes back, they send their reply letter to InmateAid's Florida address, which is printed on every envelope you send them. Once that letter arrives at InmateAid, it gets scanned and uploaded to your account as a PDF.
You will receive an email notification letting you know there is a letter waiting in your account. Log in, go to your dashboard, and the scanned letter will be there for you to read and download. You do not have to wait for anything to arrive in your physical mailbox. The whole process is handled digitally on the receiving end.
That setup works well for people who have privacy concerns about their home address, since your inmate never needs to know where you live. All their correspondence goes to InmateAid's address in Florida and routes back to you through your account. The fee for receiving an incoming scanned letter is $1.99 per letter.
If you have not received a notification yet and you are expecting a reply, check your spam or junk folder first since automated notification emails sometimes get filtered. If the email is not there and enough time has passed for a letter to have arrived, log into your account directly and check the inbox section of your dashboard. If something is missing that should be there, InmateAid's support team can look into it on their end.
