How Do I Send a Magazine After My Inmate Was Transferred?

MY inmate was moved to a different prison a month ago. When I try to locate him in your system to send a magazine, it shows his old location. How can I get a magazine sent to his new prison location?

The profile in your InmateAid account needs to be updated to reflect the new facility before any orders go out.

The profile in your InmateAid account needs to be updated to reflect the new facility before any orders go out. Sending a magazine to the old location a month after a transfer means it will either be returned or sit undelivered, so getting the address corrected first is essential.

Log into your InmateAid account and locate your inmate's profile. There should be an option to edit the facility information. Update it to the correct current facility with the accurate mailing address for that institution. Once that change is saved, any orders you place from that point forward will route to the new location.

If you are having trouble finding the new facility's correct mailing address, the state department of corrections website for wherever your inmate is housed will have it. You can also call the new facility directly to confirm the exact address format they require for incoming mail and magazines, since some facilities have specific requirements about how the address is written to ensure delivery to the right unit.

Once the profile is updated, placing the magazine order is straightforward. If you run into any difficulty updating the location yourself, InmateAid's support team can make the change on their end. Reach out to them directly and provide the new facility information and they will get the profile corrected so your order goes to the right place.

Get the address updated before placing any new orders to make sure nothing goes to the wrong facility.
