From the time you place your order, expect the greeting card to reach the facility's mailroom within two to three business days via USPS. InmateAid processes and sends orders daily, so cards go out quickly from their end.
Once the card arrives at the mailroom, it has to go through the standard inspection process before being distributed at mail call. That inspection adds a day or two in most facilities, sometimes more depending on how busy the mailroom is and how often mail call runs at your person's specific unit.
A few things worth knowing about timing. During the holiday season, both USPS transit times and facility mailroom processing slow down due to higher volume. If you are sending something for Thanksgiving or Christmas, getting the order in early is worth doing rather than waiting until the last minute and hoping it arrives before the holiday.
The total window from order to your inmate's hands is typically three to five days under normal conditions, and can stretch to a week or more during peak holiday periods.
If a significant amount of time passes and your inmate has not received the card, reach out to aid@inmateaid.com. InmateAid will look into what happened and resend at no charge if the card did not arrive. That guarantee covers all mail sent through the platform, so you are not out anything if something goes sideways in the process.
