Someone I know got arrested in Idaho at valley co jail...his charges are attempted strangulation, assault and battery, and breaking a cell phone... what kind of time is he facing...I know nothing about idaho

Idaho isn't any different than the other 49 states. If you are found guilty, of the charges as you describe them, which could range all the way to attempted murder - you are looking at a very lengthy sentence in state prison. Since we do not know your person of interest's criminal history so there is no way we can accurately assess what might actually happen. If he has prior violence in his history, he is going to have a problem.
