Some federal facilities allow inmates to wed, but we are uncertain if the private prison groups like CCA or GEO allow them. We do not think they allow them but we encourage you to call there and ask to speak with a case manager, they will have the correct answer for you. 505-285-4900

You have to get a copy of the Judgement and Commitment Order. The language written by the judge is what the department of corrections follows. Without this Order, you will not know which out date is the correct one. Concurrent means they run together, consecutive means one after the other.

In most cases, an inmate cannot be released before their earliest release or parole eligibility date. That date is set by the court and corrections system, and it marks the first point they can even be considered for release, not a guaranteed release. Parole eligibility depends on how the sentence was structured in the judgment. If parole is part of the sentence, the inmate can be reviewed by the parole board once they reach that eligibility date. This is where the offender is sentenced for their crime. It is like any court case where you are seated opposite the prosecution but in front of a judge. The prosecution puts on their reasons behind their sentence recommendation, the judge has their Pre-Sentence Report with it's sentencing recommendation and then the defense argues for the offender. Somewhere amid all of the information, the judge casts down their decision.
