The prison provides the basics necessary to do their time without any problems. However, they will not be able to make telephone calls or purchase anything at the commissary. We would guess that a good percentage of inmates get money sent in for the little extras that help make their time easier to do. If you can send money, it would be appreciated but do not send money you do not have (like taking a loan or putting it on your credit card).

Yes, when inmates are getting transferred, they are told to "pack out". This entails getting all of your property in one box and "packed" for shipping to the new locale. Most of what may be packed are letters, photos, reading material and some items bought at the commissary

First, you arrive at booking in handcuffs and are then are processed by a member of the sheriff or police staff. Processing includes fingerprinting and a mugshot. You are stripped bare and checked for concealed contraband. You are then showered and given a set of stand-issue prison clothes and some form of a bedroll and are then placed in a holding cell. We don't think so. He will most likely have to complete the remainder of the original sentence without the benefit of any relief or early release (again). It would appear he used up his chances that the judge offered at sentencing.

You can do it either way. You can make sure the Securus account is funded (remember that they take a big fee for depositing) OR the inmate can buy time at the county jail which would bypass the extra fee for depositing. Just make sure you have an IA number so that you are getting the most for your money. No one at the phone carrier level will assist you in saving money, you can be certain about that!
