The process is simple and costs your inmate nothing on their end. Every letter and postcard sent through InmateAid includes InmateAid's Florida address as the return address on the envelope. The designation for commitment is determined by the Department of Corrections. They will base the security classification on a number of factors including their criminal history, the type of crime they are convicted of, the value of the crime in dollars, was there any violence, and was anyone injured or any involvement with a gun.

We have never heard that before. Some county jails charge a per-day fee for staying in their facility. They charge for medical treatment, too. BUT, they do not have the power to fine an inmate for not doing something. They can be sent to the SHU, also known as the "hole" which is solitary confinement.
