Probably not, inmates have a tendency to overstate their treatment to gain sympathy from the outside world in the pursuit of money being placed on their commissary. We encourage adding a little money to their books from time to time, but they need to be straight with you, too

You cannot petition for an inmate's furlough, it must be granted from within. Four months is not long enough to be considered for a furlough.

An inmate's "business" while incarcerated is private and they are afforded the same protection anyone on the outside would. Therefore, that information is not available. If you "know" this random inmate's name you can certainly use the services of InmateAid to convey that in the form of photos, greeting cards, magazines, etc.

Subject: Sentencing questions

The designation for commitment is determined by the Department of Corrections. They will base the security classification on a number of factors including their criminal history, the type of crime they are convicted of, the value of the crime in dollars, was there any violence, and was anyone injured or any involvement with a gun.

We have never heard that before. Some county jails charge a per-day fee for staying in their facility. They charge for medical treatment, too. BUT, they do not have the power to fine an inmate for not doing something. They can be sent to the SHU, also known as the "hole" which is solitary confinement.

I did time in FCI Miami with a few guys that were caught off the coast smuggling immigrants and they got five years in federal. With a "bad past," it might be more because they use the negative history against you at sentencing.

Mail will only get forwarded if he is in the same prison system (ie federal or state DOC). if you use the InmateAid Letter and Photo Service, we will resend all of the mail to the new facility at no charge to you.
