This sounds more like a halfway house arrangement. However, if he is still in the prison, then he has a very trustworthy position, one that should make you feel good about the progress and programming that he has done. There are VERY few instances of "unsupervised work release". We see this sometimes in the minimum camps of the federal prison system (BOP) where inmates are working mostly unsupervised on many of the military bases around the country and then coming

That is a great question. It's been that way for decades. The federal system has an email program now called Corrlinks. It's free for you to use, but the inmate pays per minute that they are in the system. That is a great way to remain in contact. There is a bonus of an extra 100 minutes per month for November and December - so they have 400 minutes for the holidays.

Their living conditions are more like an army barracks than a prison. There are no cells and very few if any fences. Their daily routine starts to resemble more like a normal citizen than a typical inmate (where movement is restricted and rules are tight). We think you should view this as

Our knowledge is that inmates in cells are in a completely different security level (low, medium and high) than inmates who live in dorms. The dormitories are for minimum security inmates with short time sentences, no incident reports and mention of violence in their criminal history. Other inmates that are moved to minimum security probably have other factors that make them eligible for

The problem with any violation is that the original judge is likely to hear this motion for re-incarceration. They look down on violations as it makes the judicial system feel like the offender took the "break they were given" and just defied them. When you are on probation or parole, there is NO excuse like "being unaware" or "not knowing they needed to inform probation of a change of address" that would sit well with a judge. The offender is
